Sturdy and even sturdier! Unceasing Innovation!

Diamond is one of the hardest materials with outstanding thermal conductivity found on Earth. Due to these characteristics, it is used in grinding or processing stone and metals. Additionally, it’s used in crafting tools for machining automobile and aerospace components. Moreover, it finds applications in precision tools for specific purposes, such as in semiconductor manufacturing processes or medical surgical instruments.

Industrial synthetic diamonds are created through an extreme manufacturing process. A cylindrical block composed of a mixture of graphite and catalytic metals is placed in a press, subjected to a pressure of 50,000 atmospheric pressure (equivalent to the force of 50 tons pressing on 1㎠) at a temperature of 1500 degrees Celsius for one hour. This process results in the creation of small diamond particles in powdered form.

In modern industries, there’s a growing preference for lightweight materials and enhanced energy efficiency. This shift has resulted in the extensive adoption of advanced materials like CFRP, Ni alloy, CGI, ceramics, and others. Many of these materials are difficult to process, often classified as “difficult to cut.” Tools used to process these materials require superior durability, hardness, and strength. Therefore, industrial synthetic diamonds for tool materials are gaining increased attention due to their capabilities to meet these challenging processing needs.

ILJIN Diamond is the sole company in South Korea capable of developing and manufacturing industrial synthetic diamonds and related products. ILJIN Diamond Industrial Technology Research Institute prioritizes the creation of customer value. We firmly believe that establishing a cooperative system with customers from the development stage leads to innovative and creative product development. Moving beyond the traditional role of a tool material supplier, we are committed to building partnerships for the creation of customer value. We are focused on responding to technological changes in machining processes driven by heat resistance super alloy and high efficiency. Performance evaluation and analysis are given utmost importance to adapt and meet these evolving demands.
